Ladies Captain at Ellesborough Golf Club 2025-26

Pam Munday-Cripps

It is a great honour to be the Ladies’ Captain for the 2025-26 season. We are extremely lucky at Ellesborough Golf Club (EGC) to have a thriving Ladies section which is friendly, inclusive, fun and covers the full range of handicaps.

Ladies Competitions, for established golfers, take place regularly on a Tuesday morning and consist of a mixture of qualifiers and just plain fun with weekend competitions also available! Throughout the week, including Saturdays, there are popular Ladies’ roll ups (9 & 18 holes). During the summer months there is a full programme of friendly matches with other clubs in the area and we have teams playing competitively in the Bucks leagues and competitions. There are many opportunities to play mixed golf in matches and knock out competitions.

For ladies new to golf or returning to the game, EGC Academy is a wonderful way to learn/refresh alongside others of similar ability.  Academy members benefit from lessons from the Pro and use of the practice facilities. As members progress they can play the course accompanied by existing members who will help and guide them along the way.  Academy membership is an excellent way to learn to play golf before obtaining full membership; fully endorsed by my own experience.

The charity I have chosen for this year is Alzheimer’s Research UK. Almost 1 million people in the UK have dementia, both my parents ended up with this horrible condition. At the moment there is no cure, Alzheimer’s Research UK is the charity which leads world class research in the pursuit of breakthroughs which aim to understand, diagnose, reduce the risk and treat the diseases that cause dementia.

The Ladies’ section at EGC is incredibly active and welcoming to new members. Please phone the office on 01296 622114 where you will be given further details on membership or the Academy. We would love to hear from you.
