Ellesborough Golf Club has recently introduced a Junior Pathway designed to ensure that all members, regardless of their age or abilities, can fully maximise their membership and enhance their golfing skills.

This program offers a range of opportunities and resources, enabling juniors to make significant progress and enjoy their golfing journey.

  • Cadet Membership

    This category is open to boys and girls over the age of six. A Cadet will work on all aspects of golf, developing the basic key skills. The aim of this group is to achieve an official handicap of 54. Juniors in this category will be entitled to the following:

    • Provision of a Club diary
    • Provision of a Club secure entry card giving discount on food and drink inside the clubhouse
    • Use of the Club facilities
    • Access to the Club Welfare Officer
    • Tuition from the Club Professional or PGA trainee
      3 x group sessions per year
    • 2 x practice sessions a month (May to August)
    • Unlimited access to the practice facilities, under supervision
    • Discounted coaching sessions
    • Child protection and equity as laid out in the Club’s policies
    • Cadets to move to Junior Academy when agreed by the Professional or PGA trainee and they have achieved a handicap of 54
    • To be able to play on the course at designated times under the supervision of the Professional, PGA trainee or adult member
    • Cadets must be assessed by the Professional or PGA trainee to ensure they are of the necessary standard prior to playing
      on the course

  • Junior Academy

    As a Junior Academy member there is a focus on developing the player’s on course skills. The target for this group is to reduce their handicap to 36. Juniors in this category will be entitled to the following:

    • Junior Academy members must have achieved a handicap of 54
    • Provision of a Club diary
    • Provision of a Club secure entry card giving discount on food and drink inside the clubhouse
    • Use of the Club facilities
    • Access to the Club Welfare Officer
    • Tuition from the Club Professional or PGA trainee, 3 x group sessions per year
    • 2 x practice sessions a month (May to August)
    • Discounted coaching sessions
    • Unlimited access to the practice facilities under supervision
    • Child protection and equity as laid out in the Club’s policies
    • Participation in Junior social events as published in the Club diary, newsletter or mailshots and as arranged from time to time
    • To be able to play on the course at designated times under the supervision of the Professional, PGA trainee or an adult member

    Annual cost – £75.00

    Junior Academy playing rights

  • Junior Member

    As a Junior Member there is a focus on developing the player’s overall skills and reducing their handicap. At this stage the Juniors are becoming independent golfers and are encouraged to play in Junior Competitions and, as their handicap reduces, main Club Competitions. Juniors in this category will be entitled to the following:

    • Provision of a Club diary
    • Provision of a Club secure entry card giving discount on food and drink inside the clubhouse
    • Use of the Club facilities
    • Access to the Club Welfare Officer
    • Tuition from the Club Professional or PGA trainee 2 x half hour individual lessons
    • Tuition from the Club Professional or PGA trainee, 3 x group sessions
    • Discounted coaching sessions
    • Entry into Junior competitions
    • Entry into Club competitions (handicap restrictions apply
    • Access to the Golf Course and all practice facilities
    • Child protection and equity as laid out in the Club’s policies
    • Participation in Junior social events as published in the Club dairy, newsletter or mailshots and as arranged from time to time
